Early Life and Education
Theresa Coffey, a prominent British politician, was born and raised in Lancashire, England. She received her education at Somerville College, Oxford University, where she earned a degree in Chemistry. She went on to pursue a PhD in the same field at University College London.
Career in Business and Finance
After completing her academic studies, Coffey embarked on a career in the corporate world, joining the multinational company Mars. She subsequently pursued an accounting qualification and rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the Finance Director of the UK division of the corporation.
Political Journey
Coffey's foray into politics began in 2010 when she was elected as a Conservative MP to the House of Commons. Her political leanings were influenced by her admiration for former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. In 2013, she voted against the legalization of same-sex marriage in the UK.
