Una Stubbs was born on May 1, 1937, in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England. From an early age, she attended dance school at the insistence of her mother. She later pursued dance as a career and even appeared in commercials for Rowntree's candies.
In 1958, Stubbs joined the musical group The Dougie Squires. Her acting career began in the same year with a role in the musical TV series "Rush Hour." She went on to make cameo appearances in "The Benny Hill Show" and the Cliff Richard musical "Summer Holiday."
