Early Life
Vinny Appice was born of Italian descent in Brooklyn, New York. His older brother, Carmine Appice, is also a renowned drummer. At the young age of 18, Vinny Appice played drums for John Lennon.
Black Sabbath
In 1980, Vinny Appice joined the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath, replacing Bill Ward. He played on the albums "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules," contributing to the band's iconic sound with his thunderous drumming.
Dio
In the mid-1980s, Vinny Appice joined Dio, the band formed by former Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio. He played on several classic albums, including "Holy Diver" and "Dream Evil," showcasing his versatility and technical skills.
Heaven and Hell
