Early Life and Education
Viola von Cramon-Taubadel was born in 1966. She graduated in 1997 from the University of Bonn with a degree in Agricultural Economics. While pursuing her studies and professional career, she also lectured at the Agra-Europe publishing house from 1993 to 1996.
Political Career
Von Cramon-Taubadel joined the German Green Party, known as Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, in 2001. She served as a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2013. During her time in the Bundestag, she held the positions of spokesperson for foreign policy and sports policy.
In August 2018, she announced her candidacy for the European Parliament in the 2019 elections. She was elected and has served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) since then.
European Parliament
As an MEP, von Cramon-Taubadel serves on the Committee on Foreign Affairs. She is also a member of the Election Coordination Group, which oversees the Parliament's activities related to election observation.
