Biography of Wolfgang Böhmer
Wolfgang Böhmer, born in Dürrennersdorf, Saxony, had a successful career in the medical field before venturing into politics. He spent a considerable amount of time as the chief physician of the gynecological department at a city hospital. However, it was the events surrounding the reunification of Germany that motivated him to enter politics. Since 1990, Böhmer represented the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in the regional parliament of Saxony-Anhalt.
Rise in Politics
From 1991 to 1994, Böhmer served as the Minister of Finance and later as the Minister of Social Affairs for Saxony-Anhalt.
