Early Life and Career

Zlatko Vujović was born in the Montenegrin capital, Titograd, in 1961. The Montenegrin-born Yugoslav and Bosnian striker began his career at his hometown club, Budućnost Titograd.

Hajduk Split

In 1976, Vujović joined the legendary Hajduk Split. He spent a decade with the Croatian club, establishing himself as one of its most successful players ever. During his time at Hajduk, he lifted the Yugoslav First League title, the Yugoslav Cup, and twice claimed the Yugoslav First League Golden Boot award.

French Success with Bordeaux

After a decade at Hajduk Split, Vujović moved to France in 1986. He played for several French clubs, but his most notable stints were with Bordeaux. During the 1986/87 season, he led Bordeaux to a rare French double, winning both the league and cup titles.

International Career

Vujović made his international debut for Yugoslavia in 1979. He represented his country at the 1980 Olympic Games and at three FIFA World Cups: 1982, 1984, and 1990. He served as captain at the 1990 World Cup and scored 25 goals in 70 appearances for Yugoslavia.

Personal Life and Legacy

Vujović had a twin brother, Zoran, who was also a professional footballer and played for Yugoslavia. Zoran passed away tragically in 2013.

Vujović is widely regarded as one of the greatest Yugoslav strikers of all time. His achievements include:
