Early Life and Education
Anvar Abdullinovich Abdullin, a renowned Hero of the Soviet Union and a seasoned veteran of the Great Patriotic War, was born on August 29, 1922, in the village of Starodyumeevo in the Ufa Governorate of the Russian Republic. After completing his education at a cooperative technical school in Ufa, he found employment as an assistant foreman at a butter-making plant.
Military Service
In 1939, Abdullin was conscripted into the Red Army, where he honed his skills as a soldier. Upon the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War in July 1941, he was thrust into the thick of battle. In 1943, he made the momentous decision to join the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (KPSS).
Heroism at Klyepy
One of Abdullin's most remarkable feats of valor occurred on August 21, 1944, during the fierce fighting near the village of Klyepy west of Kaunas in the Lithuanian SSR. As part of a counterattack launched by the enemy, 16 tanks, 25 armored personnel carriers, and approximately an entire regiment of German infantrymen descended upon his position.
Amidst the chaos, Abdullin, then a senior sergeant, remained steadfast. He unleashed a barrage of fire, disabling the lead tank and forcing the remaining enemy tanks to outflank the battery and encircle his comrades. Undeterred, Abdullin pivoted his cannon towards the rear and opened fire on the pursuing enemy tanks, while his squadmates repelled infantry attacks with their personal weapons. He managed to destroy a second tank before turning his attention to the enemy infantrymen, who were closing in from a distance of 300-500 meters.
Despite the relentless assault, Abdullin and his men held their ground, leaving the enemy with two destroyed tanks and an estimated 200 casualties. The enemy retreated, unable to penetrate Abdullin's unyielding defense.
Recognition and Post-War Life
For his extraordinary bravery, Anvar Abdullinovich Abdullin was awarded the prestigious title of Hero of the Soviet Union on March 24, 1945, along with the "Golden Star" medal and the Order of Lenin.
After the war ended, Abdullin transitioned to civilian life and worked in the city of Vysyni Volychki in the Kaliningrad Oblast. He later held various positions in the KPSS, serving as Secretary of the Soviet District Party Committee in Ufa, Secretary of the Karmaskalinsky District Party Committee, and Instructor of the Bashkir Regional Party Committee.
In 1960, Abdullin graduated from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the KPSS. From 1959 until his retirement in 1986, he worked at the Ufa Rubber Technical Products Plant named after M.V. Frunze, where he held positions such as Deputy Secretary, Secretary of the Party Committee, Shop Manager, Deputy Director, and Civil Defense Staff Officer.
Anvar Abdullinovich Abdullin passed away in Ufa on October 28, 2002, leaving behind a legacy of valor and unwavering dedication to his country.
