Guillaume Cizeron is a French figure skater who competes in ice dancing with Gabriella Papadakis. Born on November 12, 1994, in Montbrison, France, Cizeron has achieved great success in his career.
Early Career
In 2008, Cizeron formed a partnership with Gabriella Papadakis and they trained under Gabriella's mother, Katerina Papadakis. The pair competed in junior championships and achieved their highest ranking of 2nd place in 2013. They also won two stages of the Junior Grand Prix in Sochi in 2012.
Transition to Senior Competitions
Cizeron and Papadakis started competing in senior competitions in 2013. They won the silver medal at the French Championships in 2014 and were included in the French national team for the European Championships after the withdrawal of the leading French couple. However, they struggled with nerves and finished in the middle of the table.
Triumphs and World Championships
Cizeron and Papadakis had a breakthrough season in 2014-2015, winning their first French national title. They went on to win the European Championships in Stockholm and the World Championships in Shanghai, where they set a world record in the free dance program.
In the 2015-2016 season, Cizeron and Papadakis faced a setback when Papadakis suffered a severe concussion during training. Despite missing the Grand Prix events, they were able to win the French Championships and went on to become two-time European champions in Bratislava. At the World Championships in Boston, they won their second consecutive world title and set another world record in the free dance program.
Olympic Season and Continued Success
