Biography of Steven Cousins

Steven Cousins is a British figure skater who competed in singles skating. He is an eight-time national champion in figure skating in his home country and was the first British athlete to successfully perform a triple Axel in international competition. He is also the youngest skater to ever win the British Championships.

Training and Move to Canada

Cousins trained both in the United Kingdom and the United States for many years until he moved to Canada in 1993. He settled in the city of Barrie and continued his training under the guidance of Doug Leigh.

Professional Career and Choreography

After retiring from amateur competitive skating in 1998, Cousins continued to perform in ice shows, particularly Stars on Ice, until 2007. He also established himself as a choreographer in the skating world.

Personal Life

In 2003, Cousins married Canadian ice dancer Kristina Lenko. However, the couple separated in the summer of 2006 and eventually divorced. In 2007, Cousins became a father when Elena Berezhnaya gave birth to their son. The couple had met in 2002 at the Salt Lake City Olympics. In June 2009, they welcomed their daughter, Sofia-Diana, into the world.
