Early Years and Madrid Roots

Enrique "KiKo" Casilla Cortés, a Spanish goalkeeper, was born on October 2, 1986, in Alcover, Spain. His footballing career began in the youth systems of Gimnàstic de Tarragona and Real Madrid.

Madrid's Reserve Teams

At Real Madrid, Casilla played for the reserve teams, Real Madrid C and Real Madrid Castilla. However, finding himself third-choice keeper, he opted not to renew his contract with the "Blancos."

Espanyol and Loan Spells

In 2007, Casilla moved on a free transfer to RCD Espanyol. In the 2007/08 season, he primarily played for the second team, making just four appearances for the first team. He made his La Liga debut on January 20, 2008, against Real Valladolid.

Over the next two seasons, Casilla was loaned out to Cádiz CF, helping them achieve promotion to the Segunda División but also suffering relegation. He then spent a season on loan at FC Cartagena.

Return to Espanyol

In the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons, Casilla was used in rotation at Espanyol. It was not until the 2013/14 season that he became the club's undisputed number one, playing in 37 matches.

Real Madrid Return

In July 2015, Casilla returned to Real Madrid for a fee of €6 million. He played a significant role as a backup to Keylor Navas, winning numerous titles, including:
