Biography of Patti Hansen
Patti Hansen, born Patricia 'Patti' Elvina Hansen on March 17, 1956, in Staten Island, New York, United States, is an American model and actress. She is of Norwegian descent and was the youngest of six children in her family.
Early Career
At the age of 14, Patti was noticed by photographer Peter Gert. He took her to a party organized by Wilhelmina Cooper, a former model and owner of the modeling agency 'Wilhelmina Models'. Impressed by Patti's beauty, Cooper signed a contract with her. Shortly after, Hansen moved to Manhattan and enrolled in the New York Professional Children's School. However, she dropped out to pursue her modeling career.
Modeling Success
Throughout her career, Patricia regularly appeared on the covers and pages of various magazines, including 'Seventeen', 'Glamour', 'Harper's Bazaar', and American 'Vogue'. She also participated in advertising campaigns for brands such as 'Calvin Klein', with her images displayed on billboards in Times Square. Additionally, she worked with 'Revlon' and 'André Courrèges'. Patti reached the height of her fame when she graced the cover of the December issue of 'Esquire' in 1978, celebrating the 'Year of the Energetic Woman'.
Transition to Acting
In the early 1980s, Hansen shifted her focus from modeling to acting. She appeared in only three films, including Peter Bogdanovich's romantic comedy 'They All Laughed' in 1981. She also played the role of Beverly in the dramedy 'Rich Kids' in 1979, alongside Trini Alvarado, and portrayed Nicky Nides in Larry Peerce's musical drama 'Hard to Hold' in 1984.
Return to Modeling
After her brief acting career, Patti returned to modeling when designer Calvin Klein created a collection in 1993 inspired by the fashion era of the 1970s. In 2004, Hansen and her daughters Alexandra and Theodora were featured in the advertising campaign for the 'Shalimar Light' perfume by the French perfume house 'Guerlain'.
Personal Life
On December 18, 1983, Patti Hansen married 'The Rolling Stones' guitarist Keith Richards on his 40th birthday at the Finisterra Hotel in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
