Biography of Robin Sharma
Robin Sharma is a Canadian writer and one of the most renowned experts on motivation, leadership, and personal development in North America. He earned a law degree as he had intended to become a lawyer (and eventually became one). However, despite the material wealth provided by his legal practice, he gradually realized that there was "emptiness in his heart." Eventually, he left his legal practice and published his first book.
Expertise and Achievements
Combining Western success achievement technologies with Eastern wisdom of mind, body, and spirit improvement, Sharma started helping others enhance their quality of life. Alongside his writing career, he is also a triathlete and practices taekwondo. He is an avid skier and believes that "skiing is a great teacher of life. Just like in life, we learn more on difficult slopes rather than easy ones."
Currently, in addition to his writing, Sharma conducts seminars and lectures around the world. He is a regular participant in radio and television programs for companies like "CBC" and "CBS," and his speeches have been published in well-known print publications such as "USA Today," "National Post," and "The Globe and Mail."
Notable Works
Sharma's most famous book, "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari," is written in the form of a fable and has been published in many countries. It tells the extraordinary story of Julian Mantle, a wealthy lawyer who experiences a spiritual crisis. However, immersing himself in ancient culture transforms his life; he discovers a new world, learns to live in the present, value time, think positively, and live according to his calling. Some of Sharma's other notable works include:
- "Who Will Cry When You Die?"
- "Leadership Lessons from the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari"
- "Daily Inspiration"
- "The Saint, the Surfer, and the CEO"
