Early Life
Vasily Fedorovich Fedorov was born in the village of Yermoliono in the Maksahikhin district of the Kalinin region on September 21, 1906. His parents were peasants. He began working as a construction worker at the age of 17.
Academic and Professional Journey
In 1927, Fedorov enrolled in the Leningrad Mining Institute, graduating in 1931. He dedicated his career to nonferrous metallurgy, serving in various roles including:

Head of a sector at the "AltaiTsvetMetZolot" trustChief engineer of the Irtysh Mining and Metallurgical Combine
Chief engineer and head of construction for the Belousovo Copper-Lead Combine
Director of the "Severonikel" Combine

Leadership Roles
In 1954, Fedorov became First Deputy Minister of Nonferrous Metallurgy of the Kazakh SSR. In 1956, he was appointed Minister of Nonferrous Metallurgy of the Kazakh SSR.
In March 1958, Fedorov took over as Editor-in-Chief and Head of the Editorial Board of "Gorny Zhurnal" (Mining Journal). Under his leadership, the journal championed technological advancement in the mining industry and diversified its contributors.
From 1961 to 1963, Fedorov served as an Advisor to the Minister of Industry in Cuba.
In July 1963, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Ferrous and Nonferrous Metallurgy under the USSR State Planning Committee (Gosplan).
